ODPO Charged Two Counts Reckless Homicide

The off-duty Chicago police detective involved in a fiery crash that killed two men this morning was drunk at the time, with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal limit of 0.08 percent, sources said.
Chicago Police Detective Joseph Frugoli, 41, was charged with two counts each of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence, and one count of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, according to Sally Daly, spokeswoman for Cook County State's Atty. Anita Alvarez.
She said he is still at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Friday night and a bond hearing is scheduled for Saturday.
The Chicago Police Department said it has launched an internal affairs investigation and will relieve the detective of his police powers. Frugoli, an 18-year veteran, worked in the Wentworth Area on the South Side.
The crash occurred just after 3:35 a.m. just north of 18th Street.
The Cook County medical examiner's office said this afternoon the men apparently died from multiple injuries in the crash and not from the fire.
Witnesses told police the off-duty officer then walked away from the crash and was apprehended on an exit ramp.
One of the victims was identified by relatives as Andrew Cazares, 23, of the 7700 block of West 62nd Place in southwest suburban Summit. The other person in the car was Fausto Manzera, 21, of Chicago, according to Illinois State Police. The medical examiner's office has not released the identities of the two victims.
Cazares' red Dodge apparently had pulled over to the side of the Dan Ryan, possibly to deal with a flat tire, when it was struck from the rear by the SUV, Illinois State Police said.

I will not judge the actions of this officer because we have all done it gotten behind the wheel when we have had too much too drink but we can learn from this incident and not let this happen again.

Maybe you & friend can set up an arragement no matter what, if I need to come get you because you can't drive Ill come or if you see a friend intoxicated get his keys or call him a cab.
